The NBI Clearance Offices are one of the most visited government offices in the Philippines because to get employed, travel, and even get a visa, all of these would require for you to submit an NBI Clearance to proceed in the next step of their process. It basically tells these organizations that you are free of any criminal records whatsoever. There are many NBI Clearance stations that you can go to but one that is most accommodating from experience is that in UN Avenue near taft right in front of the Manila Doctor's Hospital. I shall be enumerating the process of what one would have to go through to get an NBI Clearance and what to expect at each step of the way.
Basically there are several ways that you can choose to do in order for you to obtain your NBI Clearance. The NBI recommends that you get your NBI Clearance through an online application which would require you to have a G-Cash account (based on my knowledge is a a globe telecom money service) or if you don't have one simply go to any globe payment office and indicate that you are paying for your NBI clearance. The cost of going through this process isn't going to give you a discount on the NBI Clearance, just the selling point of not having to fall in long lines to wait to get your clearance done. Once you have paid they shall give you a reference number, the next step is to download the NBI Form which is mentioned below and indicate the payment reference number on the form. For those that paid over the counter, indicate the date and time of payment. After which you shall be asked to submit it online here: NBI ONLINE APPLICATION. Once you have successfully done an online application the QR Code should be printed as proof of application. After which you shall be asked to book an appointment.
To book an appointment:

By doing so you can get to the Express clearance lane once you make a personal appearance on the date of the appointment.
Next step is to go to the e-Clearance Lane. Bring the printed QR Code which they shall scan. It is important to show one valid Government ID such as SSS, PRC, Driver's License, Voter's ID, Passport, Original NSO Birth Certificate, Postal ID, GSIS.
After scanning the QR code your Biometric shall be taken and receipt shall be printed. Wearing of Sando and slippers are not allowed in the NBI Clearance offices.

The hassle of having to go through Globe's payment lines and having to spend time to come back to my computer to log in and set an appointment is just way too much of a hassle when I can get to do all this in just a few hours and get my NBI Clearance in a day or so."

Those that don't have the time or the resources to print the form out can simply head to the NBI Clearance Offices as they have ready made forms for you there. They will however not allow anyone else to get a form for you or handle the NBI Clearance process on your behalf as you would need to make a personal appearance. That is the same thing for those that choose to go through with the Online Applicants.
First step of the process is to fill out the NBI Clearance Form that they would give you as you enter the NBI Clearance Office. There is an allotted space for those that haven't brought their own to fill out, just make sure you bring something hard to write on as the tables aren't always available. You'll need to bring a valid government ID, or your Old NBI Clearance ID as the form requires you to indicate an ID Number. Write legibly and use a black pen to fill out the form. The names of your parents have to be the same as what you would see in your NSO Birth Certificate.

After filling out the form, you'll be asked to proceed to the Data Check Area. Here it would be good to greet the person with a smile and good morning as they tend to be quite exhausted from handling so many people and their questions. Doing so they'll be a lot more receptive to helping you out on the spot if ever you may have missed out on something on the form. Here they'll check on everything from the ID that you shall be presenting, for what purpose you are seeking to obtain the NBI Clearance and other pertinent questions relating to the information that you have placed on the NBI Clearance application form. Once you are good to go they shall ask you to proceed to the next step of the process which is the payment area.
Once you have obtained your receipt/s depending on how many, the next is to proceed to the Encoding Area. The Encoding Area is where they'll encode your written application onto their digital forms per receipt you present. It would be best to greet the person here with a smile as they like the verification group have a tiring job and are only willing to go an extra smile when someone they are talking to makes an extra effort to make their day a little better. I know that this is in reverse to what one would expect as a customer but the thinking here is that you need something from them so be nice.

Data Capture is the next step once your data has been encoded. Data Capture is where they'll be taking your photograph and biometrics (digitally scan your finger prints) and it is here where they'll indicate how long it'll take you to get your NBI Clearance. If you have a hit (a criminal record based on name) you'll be asked to proceed to an interview room where you have to explain why or make a denial. If there is no hit but you have a common name, the practice is that they'll need to cross reference your name through their database which could take a lot of time. That is where they'll have to ask you to come back. If you have a unique name and no criminal record, you'll get your NBI Clearance right there and then.

The entire process is quite short and well organized. It only took me an hour or so get mine, but I got lucky cause there weren't that many people during the day that I chose to go. It would be best to go on a non-peak day and during working hours as this is a most likely day that the NBI Clearance Offices wont have that many applicants.
